During my internship at the Rashtriya Lok dal, a prominent political party in India, I worked on increasing women participation in the party. I spoke directly to the women and helped them vote and made their voice heard. I also helped the women put up their issues and grievances to create a planned agenda.
Address home is a Luxury Retail chain in India. During my internship with them I helped them redesign their eCommerce website and increase their online presence helping them reach a staggering 75,000 followers. I also helped them develop an omni-channel strategy.
During my internship at Six Senses Luxury Resort at Barwara, a converted 19th century fort in Rajasthan, I worked with their Human Resources Team. This internship was extremely insightful and my duties varied from reducing staff attrition to increasing the female workforce at the resort and integrating the villagers with the resort. My time here was invaluable, and I learnt a lot out of my experience.
My passion is learning, I really enjoy participating in courses outside the curriculum of school as it not only deepens my understanding of the subject, but also allows me to collaborate with others. Whether it is entrepreneurship, social justice and communication skills to name a few! I am always looking for ways to grow and learn.
Here are some of the courses I have completed at Babson, Wharton (University of Pennsylvania), Marshall School Of Business at USC and Trinity College, London.
Jaipur Foot and Limb is one of India’s leading charitable organisations which provides the world’s cheapest prosthetic limbs. It was also a Harvard case study. It allows disabled people to become able, self-sufficient and lead independent lives.
During my time working with this organisation, I had set up and funded a mobilised service which helped doctors reach patients in remote parts of India who needed assistance. I did so by setting up vans which could take doctors to rural villages. This helped in solving a big issue of the lack of access in the rural areas to quality healthcare in India. My time at Jaipur foot was very eye opening and quite inspirational.
Hupkwondo is a Malaysian Martial art founded in 1989, by Grandmaster Lee. It is a mixed form of martial art with movements that are free flowing and compact instead of rigid.
I am passionate about Hupkwondo; over the years it has provided me with discipline and structure. It has not only helped me improve my fitness level but also enhanced my mental focus.
I am a 1st level black belt and an Assistant Instructor for this martial art. I am also a State and National Champion in under 17 and under 14 categories. I look forward to spreading awareness about Hupkwondo and teaching others this amazing martial art form.
